Rev. Dr. Melvin T. Jones is Senior Pastor of the Union Missionary Baptist Church of Lansing, Michigan.  Pastor Jones serves as President of the Michigan Baptist State Convention, Inc., and is also President of the Pastors’ Alliance of Greater Lansing. He has been a guest lecturer at Xavier University of Cincinnati, Ohio University, Wilberforce University, and Michigan State University.

Pastor Jones is a graduate of Case Western Reserve University where he earned a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology with undergraduate work in Religion and Philosophy.  Pastor Jones has received numerous awards and honors, both civic and national including an Honorary Doctor of Divinity degree from Dallas Baptist Christian College and is currently completing a Doctor of Ministry degree program at Ashland Theological Seminary.
